Time to get back to work for my team, the cards came in late today! After checking and finding they are all there, and properly packed (this time). We are all ready starting to package some of these games for shipment.
So what this means is that it is time to start to close down Backerkit. The final date of Backerkit will be Friday the 23rd of October! Why are we waiting so long? Because we wish to make sure everyone has the chance to make sure they can pick up any more items before we close things down and charge your accounts.
Once we have charged people for the games they have purchased, we will be able to release the PDF's, ship out the games to you (and dice), on top of releasing 3 wallpapers for your computers background (in JPEG format) as a thank you for being so patient with us as we make sure the product fits not only our requirements, but fits your excitement.
If any of you need to alter the shipping address, please make sure to do that as soon as possible. If you need to alter your address after we have closed the Backerkit, please make sure to contact us through Kickstarter so we can update that information for you.
For those of you who have purchased personal zombie images, if you have not contacted us, please email us through Kickstarter. If we do not hear from you soon, we will be contacting you directly so we can get those images out to you as soon as possible.
We appreciate everyone's patients with this process. We cannot wait to hear of all the fun you have when you receive your games.

The Good, The Bad, and The Zombies!

Hello Everyone,
We as a team wish to apologize for being quiet for a short time. Due to our unexpected change in our team, a few of us have been working double or triple time to get things worked out. We have a lot to share with you and we wish to provide you with everything, good, bad and never forgetting the zombies.
The Bad News...
We feel starting out with the bad news is the best, that way we can fall back to the good stuff.
After working tirelessly, and having many conversations with our current printers. Our team felt that we were on the fast track to doing this fast and have it in your hands. We awaited the print test, so we could check colors, make sure the printing stock would be correct for the game, etc.
What happened is something none of us expected. While the conversations on the phone with their sales reps had us awaiting the test print, the actual truth was, they printed without us. This provided us 4 boxes (or 500 games) of extremely dark, and unacceptable product. This product showed up a month ago, and caused all sorts of issues. There were booklets missing from games, some games had two to three booklets, and out of 500 games, we had 493 booklets (that we had to send back to the company). We got on the phone immediately...
While we wanted to do an update, seeing too many Kickstarter updates that were all about the fact bad things happened, this not only stirred up the anger of many backers but caused untold problems. So we decided to take a risk and wait till we had the entire outcome so you as the backers would know everything.
The Good News...
We as a company hold that being completely 100% up front and honest with all that is going on is important. Until today, we had no true idea of what was going on due to these facts. The company we were printing with feels we are at fault for the screw up, while we feel it is on them. At the end of the day, we were not going to let an argument get in the way of getting this out to you. So with the latest print test we received, we have paid for the game to be completely reprinted from scratch, out of our own pocket.
Our priority is to get this game out to all of you as fast as humanly possible. So after we return the print test after signing off on it, the company in question should print and ship the games to us within 2-3 week after receiving the print test. Why we have to send back the print test is something that none of us can fathom.
Due to these complications, we wish to do something special for all of you due to this complication. We will be working together to figure out a way to thank you all for your patients. Our entire team apologizes for this wait and will keep you up to date on everything as the information should be coming across much faster now that we have the printing company working with us to fix this issue.
The Zombies!
For all you zombie fans who went the extra mile and purchased personal zombie images, or the prototypes, we have news for you! For the personal zombie pictures, we have received maybe half of the images we need to receive to get that artwork out to you. For anyone who has yet to send us their images for your personal zombies, please contact us through either Kickstarter or by contacting us at the email... [email protected]
When it comes to the prototypes. Getting the game properly printed had to take priority but we are fully prepared to keep working hard on that. We will have Alisha working hard on that art here in days and the prototypes should be ready when the first games arrive at your houses.

First off, we have some news that is not all that great... We have had some small changed of late in our company structure. One of our members had to step away from the company for an unknown amount of time, so we send out our best wishes to them and their family. We hope to hear good news soon.
Some of you have been waiting for this, so to not keeping you in suspense... So here is one of our vanity backers!
Now onto the last but possible the best part... In the next few days we will have the test copy of MZM from the printers, and this means we will have a fast turnaround as soon we finalize it. We will send out a fast update when it appears in the mail to show you all we got it. For now, we wanted you all to know we are very close to being finished!
A few more steps and you will all looking at your own copies. Good luck, be safe and we will talk to you in a few days at most.

Greetings, backers and fellow brain lovers!
It's been a couple of weeks since we gave you the good news about our super amazing upgrades to MZM, so we felt it was time to check in with a few updates.
BackerKit Update!
We have been working hard with BackerKit and our supporters to get all the information in that we will need to better fulfill the awesome experience you all pledged to join. Our survey responses so far have been very encouraging. Over 80% interest in the expansion and future games! We could not be more excited. Thank you all again for your support.
Because we love you all dearly for your awesomeness, we want your help. Here's a few things you could do to make life go more smoothly for everyone:

Please keep inviting people to BackerKit! We are still in the presale phase, and it's absolutely not too late to upgrade your existing pledge or join the party for the first time.

If you have not yet completed your survey, please do so ASAP. The information we are collecting will strongly influence the future of our games and we want your input to be a part of that process.

Please make sure to double check your shipping addresses. This is essential so that when we finish the press run, everyone gets their games in a timely manner.

Keep up the good spirit and shares on social media. Your eternal, undead affection makes our days better as we work hard to finish the run up to press time.
Card Art is Done!
We have been working hard with the card backers, and those in the art reward tiers so we have been slightly quiet because we have been using both hands drawing, writing and cleaning up. This has caused us to make hard choices, either learning to type with our toes for these updates or wait to give you something of worth.
If you pledged for the $80 tier to receive just the art, not as part of the deck, please remember to send your chosen photo to [email protected] soon, so that we can get our illustrator cracking on your zombie portrait!
However, we are now officially done all of the custom art that will be a part of the deck! Hooray!
As a thanks to all of our backers, here is a taste of the fun we had creating these unique zombies for MZM. Here us one of the new, entirely backer-driven zombies for you to chomp on.
That's just one of our five exciting new zombies. We can't wait to release the rest of the horde for your enjoyment!
MZM Expansion News!
For those of you who are interested in the expansion (And did we mention the survey says it's 80% of you! Amazing!), we have been working hard at putting together something to show you. At this time we have not come together with anything concrete and we do not wish to tease you...or do we?!?
Currently we are looking for a name to call our expansion, and as our backers we want your input on this, too! If you have a good idea (or even a bad one) please post your ideas to the comments section on our Kickstarter.
While you do this, we will continue to test these odd, ridiculously fun weapons and obstacles for the expansion and the enhanced new rules that come with them. We've made a lot of progress so far, and it won't be long until we have something worthy to show all our beloved followers.

Super Extra Special Update of Amazing!

Beloved Backers!
We have the most wonderful news!
The team has been hard at work (notwithstanding distractions caused by good old Earl and his crazy antics), and we are excited to have some amazing extras to share with you. We've been juggling everything from surveys and funds to chainsaws and squirrels these last few weeks...all to see if what we hoped was possible was, in fact, possible.
We ran all the math and took some time to seriously think about our options, particularly after coming so close to the next stretch goal. It just ate at us even more than these darn zombies always do. We thought we were already bringing you the best possible game for the price, but we knew there was a better product just inches away.
Now, thanks to some help from our printer and sales on BackerKit bringing us up to that very same stretch goal mark, we discovered we could do not only that extra reward but even more!!!!
What is this "more" you ask?
Our work in the sewers of photoshop have not been wasted. By reinvesting into our own product with our own time, money and straight up insanity, we are proud to bring you a virtual horde of extra perks. Even better, this will come at no additional cost to our amazing supporters around the world and will be incorporated fully into all MZM decks from here on out.
The list of improvements to Midnight Zombie Marathon will include:
• Card Revamp!
We have cleaned up the template design on the card's face side, making them easier to read, understand and play. Don't worry, though. All that amazing art is definitely here to stay. You'll just be able to see it a lot more easily now!
• +5 Decked Out Goal!
We are upgrading the deck to the full 36 cards for the complete set of zombie fun. Since BackerKit has now brought in over the amount needed to hit the +5 goal, it just didn't seem fair to let you miss out on the goodies.
• Bookletizing!
Even though we didn't come even close to this goal, after having a look at our options, we just couldn't go with a flimsy sheet of rules when we could have a rules booklet instead. Our quality standards just demand it, so once we found a way to afford the booklet, the whole team agreed we had to do it no matter what!
Okay, okay...So what's the short answer?
Getting down to brass tacks, as Earl likes to say, this means that everyone will be able to benefit from these upgrades. It doesn't matter if you were there on day one or only started following us today. It's not important whether you you backed for the print-and-play PDF or buy our special discounted 10 deck pack on BackerKit.
Absolutely everyone will see a significant improvement in our already outstanding product quality.
